Thomas Marlen

James Harrison and Thomas Marlen guilty breaking into the dwelling house of Richard Barnes in the parish of Fittleworth on 5^th September 1740; and stealing therefrom a pair of silver buckles (valued at 2/-), a pair of silver buttons (valued at 12d), 3 knives and 3 forks (valued at 2/6), a dozen pewter spoons (valued at 12d), a linen table cloth (valued at 12d), 2 silk handkerchiefs (valued at 2/-), 8 pounds of sugar (valued at 12d), 3 pounds of plums (valued at 12d), 8 pounds of bacon (valued at 5/-), 3 pecks of wheaten flower (valued at 4/-), 2 Portuguese gold coins (each with a value of 36/-) and 18/6 in money numbered.  They were found guilty at the lent assizes and executed ??.  No reprieves traced.
